Easy No-Bake Chocolate Slice

Easy No-Bake Chocolate Slice

Tasty, chocolatey, addictive goodness. A perfect snack for adults and kids alike.

 

Base:

1 cup dates (soaked in boiling water for 10 minutes then drained well)

1/2 cup buckwheat flour (or buckwheat groats / almonds roughly ground)

1 cup coconut

1/3 cup cacao or cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla

1 Tbsp coconut oil

pinch salt

 

Icing:

1 cup cashews, almonds or coconut

3 Tbsp cacao or cocoa powder

3 Tbsp coconut oil (room temperature)

pinch salt

2 Tbsp maple syrup

 

Instructions:

  1. Base: Grind buckwheat groats/almonds if needed, otherwise use buckwheat flour. Combine all base ingredients in food processor and blend for 1 minute until the mixture comes together. Add a bit of water if needed. Tip into a lined tray and press evenly. Chill in the freezer while making the icing.
  2. Icing: Clean food processor then add nuts or coconut and blend until fine. Add remaining ingredients and blend until an icing consistency is created. Spoon onto the base and spread evenly.
  3. Chill for a few hours to set. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
